WEBMay 23, 2016 — BOSTON — The Coast Guard warns of cold water hazards following five fatalities across the First Coast Guard District within the month of May. The Northeast had 30 recreational boating fatalities in 2019, and 50 in 2020. There have been five fatalities within the first two weeks of May alone.

Coast Guard awards contract for Offshore Patrol Cutter Acquisition
WEBJun 30, 2022 — WASHINGTON – The Coast Guard awarded a fixed-price incentive (firm target) contract to Austal USA of Mobile, Ala. to produce up to 11 offshore patrol cutters (OPCs). The initial award is valued at $208.26 million and supports detail design and long lead-time material for the fifth OPC, with options for production of up to 11 OPCs in total.
Coast Guard Cutter Alert returns home after patrol in Eastern Pacific
WEBJun 17, 2023 — ASTORIA, Ore. – The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Alert (WMEC 630) and crew returned to homeport Friday, after a 61-day counternarcotics patrol in the Eastern Pacific. On May 26, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Marine Patrol Aircraft crew notified the Alert crew of a suspected “go-fast” vessel.

Coast Guard honors service’s only Medal of Honor recipient
WEBCoast Guard crew members from units across the Pacific Northwest attended the 75th anniversary ceremony to remember and honor Petty Officer Munro in Cle Elum today.
