Supermarket chain H-E-B announced its phased rollout of digital tap-to-pay-services. Stores in the San Antonio area will be the first to offer.

SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B has started a phased rollout of digital tap-to-pay service at stores across Texas. According to a news release, the rollout will begin Monday at H-E-B stores in the San Antonio area, where it will take about a week to launch the service at every location in the region.

H-E-B is launching tap-to-pay services across all its stores, allowing customers to make quick, contactless payments using digital wallets like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.

Texas's favorite grocery store is giving customers a way to streamline their shopping experience. H-E-B will start rolling out digital tap-to-pay services to its flagship stores across the state, according to a news release.

H-E-B has been one of the biggest Apple Pay holdouts. In July, however, the company signaled a potential change in strategy after kicking off a pilot program at one of its Central Market locations in Dallas.

In a statement, the store chain explained that customer may make 'purchases using digital tap-to-pay services such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay.'
