The Israeli military struck the Lebanese capital, marking a gradual expansion of what it says are strikes targeting Hezbollah there, as its forces fight with the militant group in the country’s south.

An Israeli airstrike on an apartment in central Beirut has killed seven Hezbollah-affiliated first responders.

Israel’s military has told residents of more than 20 towns in southern Lebanon to leave their homes immediately as it presses on with cross-border incursions and striking Hezbollah targets in a suburb of Beirut.
