This past Sunday Earth gained a temporary second moon
On Sept. 29, Asteroid 2024 PT5 entered Earth’s gravitational pull. PT5 will orbit in a horseshoe shape, meaning it won’t complete a full circle while under the influence of Earth’s gravity. Once the asteroid finishes its orbit on Nov. 25, it will return to the Arjuna asteroid belt.

This means you will not be able to see this mini-moon with the naked eye. You likely won't be able to see it with a telescope either. You need more sophisticated equipment to see it. If no one told you about it, you honestly wouldn't even know about it.
