Storm Éowyn is gathering strength, supercharged by the Arctic blast that moved through the US, and has the potential to trigger power outages and travel disruptions across the UK later this week.

As Storm Éowyn is about to descend on Northern Ireland with rain, snow and 80mph winds, government agencies are putting measures in place to prepare for possible disruption.
