Jabrill Peppers was set to go on trial Wednesday until a water main broke in the Quincy courthouse the proceedings were set to be held in.

Peppers was arrested in October and charged with assault, strangulation and possession of drugs after an altercation with his girlfriend at his Braintree apartment.

Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was due to stand trial today on criminal charges. The start of the trial was delayed by a day, for reasons other than the case itself. Via the Associated Press, a water main break closed the courthouse in Quincy, Massachusetts until Thursday. The case will begin then.

A woman told police that in the early morning of Oct. 5, Peppers, who she said she’d been seeing “on and off,” grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall as he told her to leave his Braintree home.
