The Buffalo Sabres nearly traded Dylan Cozens to the Detroit Red Wings before the NHL’s holiday roster freeze. The Sabres have taken calls on Cozens throughout the season and could send the former first-round pick out of town before the NHL Trade Deadline.
The Sabres haven’t found the right partner for Power since he was drafted first overall in 2021 and arrived in the NHL in March 2022.
The Sabres have the assets to entice Vancouver into a trade. The bigger question is what, exactly, Buffalo might have to give up.
In a report published Sunday at The Fourth Period, Seravalli revealed that the Sabres "continue to scour the trade market" trying to retool their roster. "Sabres GM Kevyn Adams has been active making and taking calls on a number of his players, with centre Dylan Cozens at the forefront of discussions," Seravalli wrote.
With less than 40 days to go until the NHL trade deadline, the expectation is that talks will begin heating up in the coming weeks and the Vancouver Canucks will likely be in the thick of things.
