Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and some of the players, including Quinn Ewers, met with the media after the game to discuss what he saw from his team, Ohio State, and the game in general and was quick to give credit to the Buckeyes after the loss.

Texas was just one yard from tying the Cotton Bowl but a failed sweep and subsequent sack and fumble clinched the game for Ohio State.

Everyone was expecting it to be the game of the playoff as the Ducks narrowly beat the Buckeyes in the regular season, but it ended up being a complete dud. Halfway through the second quarter, Ohio State was up 31-0. The Buckeye cruised to another easy win.

On the very next play, Ohio State QB Will Howard hit running back TreVeyon Henderson on a screen-route that went 75-yards for a touchdown, putting the Buckeyes up 14-7. It was a back-breaking play that has brought a ton of questioning forward for Sarkisian, whose defense was clearly not prepared for the situation.

Trailing the Buckeyes by a touchdown in Friday’s College Football Playoff semifinal game at the Cotton Bowl Classic, the Longhorns were marching up the field, and with the help of a couple pass interference calls against Ohio State, they were at first-and-goal on the one-yard line with less than four minutes left.
