Uber Technologies said on Thursday it was partnering with autonomous technology startup Avride for food deliveries and robotaxi services, as the ride-hail major rapidly extends its network of self-driving technology partners.

Uber Technologies, Inc. UBER is gearing up to embark on a new journey through its strategic partnership with Avride, a U.S.-based autonomous vehicle startup. The partnership aims to bring Avride’s innovative delivery robots and autonomous vehicles to Uber and Uber Eats.

With Cruise robotaxis already being tested in Dallas, more autonomous innovation is on the way to the city in 2024 and 2025 via a partnership between Uber and Austin-based Avride. Uber and Uber Eats customers may have the option to select a robotaxi for their next ride across town or a sidewalk robot to roll their favorite restaurant order home.
