LOS ANGELES — Erik and Lyle Menendez’s bid for freedom hit another possible roadblock this week as California Gov. Gavin Newsom said that he will not review their clemency request until after the incoming Los Angeles County district attorney makes a resentencing recommendation.

Newsom, who the brothers recently petitioned for clemency, revealed on his podcast that he’ll leave it to LA's incoming district attorney, Nathan Hochman, to decide the brothers' fate.

Nathan Hochman is set to take office next month and said he would review the case before taking a position on the brothers’ possible resentencing.
