The 9 Pro Fold’s cover screen is essentially the same size, shape and aspect ratio as the base Pixel 9. After using it for several weeks, and spending the last year with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Fold 6, it’s clear that a larger cover display on a folding phone should be the standard.

Google's Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL are great phones, packing plenty to get excited about from the refreshed design to the plethora of fancy new AI skills. And while many of its AI tools are based around imagery -- including the wild generative AI Pixel Studio-- Google's Gemini Advanced is capable of providing deep (although sometimes inaccurate) answers to almost any questions you may have.

However, my perceptions changed when a friend showed me his Google Pixel 2 XL. The photos were outstanding, and I couldn’t believe that Google could produce such fantastic and sharp portrait images from a single lens.
