Japan will sweep regional airports for more unexploded ordnance after a bomb dropped by the United States in World War II blew up on a taxiway in the south, the country's transport minister said Friday.

Flights have resumed at a Japanese airport after a World War II bomb exploded just seconds after a passenger jet had taxied past it.

A bomb dropped by the United States during the Second World War exploded at a Japanese airport on Wednesday (October 2), causing chaos and resulting in 80 flights being cancelled.
