Community mourns loss of Brazoria County Deputy Jesus Vargas after shootout
HOUSTON ( KIAH) — The law enforcement community is mourning the loss of Brazoria County Deputy Jesus Vargas. This is the first time a deputy from that department has been killed in the line of duty in 14 years. Vargas was part of a team that went to arrest Robert Lee Davis on an aggravated assault charge Wednesday.
A Blue Alert has been issued and authorities have released a photo of the suspect wanted in connection to the shooting death of a Brazoria County sheriff’s deputy in Houston Wednesday.
Two public services will be held next week in remembrance of Deputy Jesus Vargas, who was killed in a shooting Wednesday.
