Renault chief executive Luca de Meo has said their "family jewel" Alpine Formula 1 team is not for sale after the company confirmed its engine production will end after next season for financial reasons.

Struggling Formula 1 team Alpine confirmed it will no longer use its homemade Renault engines in 2026. Alpine said in a statement on Monday that its F1 engine factory at Viry-Chatillon on the outskirts of Paris would become an engineering center called Hypertech Alpine,

Renault entered F1 in 1977, introducing the turbo engine to motor racing’s flagship sport and winning five drivers’ titles and six constructors’ crowns.

Renault decided to end Formula One engine production after next season for financial reasons but its Alpine team is a "family jewel" and not for sale, chief executive Luca de Meo said on Friday.

In little over two years, several key aspects of Alpine F1 have changed. Drivers, team principals and technical directors are among notable departures from the Enstone squad since 2024.
