On the occasion of Maha Saptami on October 10, several public and private banks will remain closed. The Reserve Bank of India has announced a holiday of the banks for some specific states, where the Durga Puja is prevalent and significant.

Banks will be closed for four consecutive days in some states due to Dussehra and in October in general, banks will be closed for 15 days

The Durga Puja festival spans five days, commencing with Shashthi and culminating with Vijayadashami. In 2024, this grand celebration will take place from October 8 to October 13, with each day carrying its own unique significance.

Dussehra, also known as Vijaya Dashami or Dasara , is one of India's most celebrated festivals, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Observed on the 10th day of the Hindu month of Ashvin, it marks the end of the Navaratri festival.
