KWCH was the first television station in Kansas, and began broadcasting July 1, 1953. The station was originally licensed to and broadcasted from Hutchinson, Kansas, and in 1956 moved to its current location in Wichita. KWCH has three satellite stations: KBSD in Dodge City, KBSH in Hays and KBSL in Goodland, which all operate as Sunflower Broadcasting. Sunflower Broadcasting also oversees sales, production and promotion of KDCU-DT 31, a Univision affiliate. KWCH is owned by Schurz Communications, Inc.
