You can walk through the place in just a few minutes if you want. It all depends on how many details you want to absorb. Plus, if you desire there are volunteer docents on staff who will lead you on a guided tour and elaborate on aspects if you ask. After our self-guided tour we ended up staying an extra hour simply chatting with the fellow in charge of the place. Dr. Bob is a great asset and has plenty of passion about the subject of Jefferson Davis as well as the house.
